Two Major Refrigeration Types Explained!

Refrigeration is a big necessity for every business unit that deals in food products. While in homes, it is required on a small level, in shops, it is required on a bigger level. A deli or refrigeration bakery case is a great way to improve business sales. These are required in almost all types of food service operations such as restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and convenience stores.

Choices are many when it comes to the selection of right storage product like meat cabinets for a food store. Given below are a few points that will guide you into making right selection.

Refrigerated bakery and deli cases appear to be same, but the way they work is a little different. These cases make use of two basic refrigeration types. The first type is called gravity coil and the other

The first type, as the name indicates makes use of fans that function to circulate the cool air across the cabinet in order to keep the eatables fresh. These types of storage and refrigeration cases are most commonly used for storing prepackaged foods, and bakery products.

Attention should be paid to the fact that due to air circulation, products displayed in the case are likely to dry out if the shop owner forgets to cover them up or leave them in the case for too long.

The second type as we discussed earlier is called gravity coil. This type of system works with a refrigeration coil situated at the top of the cabinet to allow the cool air to drop down on the food. This category of storage cabinets would work best for keeping products like seafood, raw meat, and deli items, where the drying effect of continuously moving air is not required.

Gravity coil refrigeration deli and bakery cases are more economical compared to their forced air counterpart.

If the items you wish to display include pies, and cakes, forced air bakery system will work best for you. On the other hand, if you want to store and display raw meat and seafood items, gravity coil system is the option for you. Gravity coil will also work if you are going to store coleslaw, pasta salad, cheese etc.

one is called forced air. Which type is right for you will be dependent on the items you wish to display in the case.
